Privacy Policy

WeWatch helps a household decide what to watch together. This policy explains what we collect in the WeWatch app for iPhone and at wewatch.presler.me, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address and profile photo from the sign-in provider you choose (Google or Apple). With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email address.
• Your taste — shows and movies you add, rate (Loved / Liked / Meh / Disliked), favorite, dismiss or put on your watch list, plus any mood, genre or free-text notes you write about what you like.
• Household — which partner you’re linked with. Your watch list, ratings and recommendations are shared with your household partner.
• Usage analytics (website only) — anonymous page views and feature usage via Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies or identify you.

We don’t collect your location, contacts or device identifiers, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.

How we use it

Only to run WeWatch: to sign you in, keep your household’s library in sync, and generate personalized recommendations. We never sell your data.

Who processes it

• Supabase stores your account and library.
• Vercel hosts the WeWatch service.
• Anthropic (Claude) receives your household’s ratings, taste notes and display names (so it can tell partners’ tastes apart) to generate recommendations. It never receives your email address, and Anthropic does not train its models on this data.
• TMDB, OMDb, MDBList and Watchmode are queried for title artwork, ratings and streaming availability. These lookups contain titles, not personal information.
• Google and Apple handle sign-in.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app or on the website. That permanently deletes your profile and taste notes. If your partner is still in the household they keep the shared library; otherwise the household and everything in it is deleted too. You can also email us to ask for a copy or deletion of your data.

Children

WeWatch isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes we’ll update the date above, and notify you in the app for significant changes.
